What We Believe

The One True God

We believe in the One eternal God, infinite in power, holy in nature. This one true God has revealed Himself as Father in creation, through the Son as the savoir, and as the Holy Spirit, who leads us into all truth (I Corinthians 8:6; Ephesians 4:6; II Corinthians 5:19; John 14:26).

The Scripture declares the existence of God; it asserts the knowledge of God is universal (Romans 1:19, 21, 28, 32; 2:15). God is invisible and therefore free from all limitations. He is Spirit (John 4:24), and “a spirit hath not flesh and bones…” (Luke 24:39).

The first of all commandments is, “Hear, O Israel: the LORD our God is one LORD:” (Deuteronomy 6:4) and also found in (Mark 12:29);

“One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all:” (Ephesians 4:6).

The Bible

We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God. The individual writers, at the time of writing, had no idea that their message was eventually to be incorporated into such a Book, but each nevertheless fits perfectly into place. The one consistent theme of the Bible, developing from Genesis to Revelation, is God’s great work in the creation and redemption of all things, through the Lord Jesus Christ.

The remarkable evidence of fulfilled prophecy is just one of many reasons why we believe in the Holy Scriptures. Hundreds of Bible prophecies have been fulfilled, specifically and meticulously, often long after the prophetic writer had passed away. For example, Daniel the prophet predicted that Christ would come as Israel’s promised savoir 483 years after the Persian emperor would give the Jews authority to rebuild Jerusalem which was then in ruins (Dan ch 9). This detailed prophecy was clearly and definitely fulfilled, hundreds of years later. More than 300 prophecies were fulfilled by Christ Himself at His first coming and many prophecies concerning God plan for the end times are being fulfilled.

The Bible is read in our homes, schools, hospitals, and even the highest courts. Large sections of the Law of the land are based on the principles of the Holy Scriptures. The Bible has survived centuries of persecution and still is and will always be the bestselling book of all time.

The Son Of God

Jesus was born of the Virgin Mary, he is called Emmanuel which means, (God is with us). He was the Son while He walked among men. The one true God, the Jehovah of the Old Testament, took upon Himself the form of man, as the Son of man. The Apostle Paul states in ” (I Timothy 3:16, “And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory ; John 1:10).

We believe that

“… God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing (not holding responsible) their trespasses unto them;…” (II Corinthians 5:19).

We believe that, “… in Him (Jesus) dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” (Colossians 2:9).

“… unto us a child is born, unto us a son in given:… and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace” (Isaiah 9:6).

The Name (Jesus)

“And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: For he shall save his people from their sins” (Matthew 1:21).

“Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4:12).

Sin (Disobedience To God)

God created man in His own image (Genesis 1:26,27), innocent, pure and holy (Romans 5:11, Ephesians 2:3).

Mankind sinned; therefore there was only one who was born without sin worthy to redeem us. Romans 3v23. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes on him should not perish but have eternal life. John 3v16.

Our Lord and Savoir Jesus Christ in whom we have redemption through His blood, even the forgiveness of sins (Ephesians 1:7; Revelation 1:5

Repentance And Remission Of Sin

Repentance, Godly sorrow (being sincerely sorry to God)

We believe that there is only one un-pardonable sin, found in Mark 3: 28-30 and that is blasphemy against the Holy Ghost and outside of that remission of sin is possible to all those who are of  “ a broken and contrite heart He will not despise” (Psalm 51:17). We believe that only Jesus, not man can save a person from sin following, Godly repentance is given to man, only by God.   Jesus proclaimed before His ascension and commanded that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name, beginning at Jerusalem (Luke 24:47).

Water Baptism

Jesus said “Except a man is born of the spirit and of the water he cannot enter into the Kingdom of God” John ch3v5Water baptism is only for those who have fully repented, having turned from their sins and a love of the world. We believe that baptism should be carried out by an authorised member of the body of Christ, full of the Holy Ghost, walking and operating in the calling of God.  We believe when immerging the repented person, in direct reference to the Word of God, all baptised is to be baptised in the name of Jesus Christ, according to the Acts of the Apostles; 2:38; 8:16; 10:48; 19:5, thus obeying and fulfilling Matthew 28v19.

Holy Spirit Baptism

The terms “baptised with the Holy Ghost,” “filled with the Holy Ghost,” and the “gift of the Holy Ghost,” are synonymous terms which are interchangeable in the Bible.

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit as stated in:

Matthew 3:11, John the Baptist said “… He shall baptise you with the Holy Ghost.”

Jesus was quoted in Acts 1:5, as saying, “… ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.” Luke tells us in Acts 2:4, “… and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost and began to speak with other tongues, (languages) as the Spirit gave them utterance.”

We believe that all believers who have repented and baptised in the name of Jesus Christ, must be filled with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues.

The Grace Of God (Undeserved Favour)

“For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men, teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly in this present world.” (Titus 2:11,12).

“For the law was given by Moses, but grace and truth came by Jesus Christ.” (John 1:17)

We believe that through our faith in Christ Jesus, although born in sin and shaped in iniquity.  (Psalm 51:5), by ensuring that we walk according to the principles of the Holy Bible and keep in fellowship in the love of God (Jude 21), God is able to keep us from falling into sin.

“For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:” (Ephesians 2:8)

 Holiness

It is written, “Be ye Holy as I am Holy” I Peter 1:15-17

We believe that godly living should characterize the life and walk of all saints according to the sign and example found in I Peter 2:21; Titus 2:11; Galatians 2:20; Hebrews 12:14.

We believe that all who take on the name of Jesus are to live Godly life-styles, by separating themselves from all appearance of evil, by this we believe that our members are to be blameless in their daily walk and not bring disrepute to the Church, within the congregation and outside of the gathering of the saints.

Members are to” cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God (II Corinthians 7:1), to abstain from all appearance of evil (I Thessalonians 5:22), and to turn away from those who have a form of godliness but deny the power thereof (II Timothy 3:5; I Corinthians 11:6; I Timothy 2:9,10; I Peter 2:3,4).

The Roles of Men & Women

We believe that God created human beings, male and female in his own image. Adam and Eve belonged to the creative order that God himself declared to be very good, serving as Gods agents to care for and manage creation. Living a devoted holy life towards God.

Adam and Eve were made to compliment each other in a one flesh union, which is the only normal pattern given by God for sexual relations. Men and Women in marriage serve as a pattern of Christ and the Church.

In Gods wise purposes, Men and Women are not interchangeable but rather they compliment each other in neutral enriching ways. God has ordained distinctive roles which reflect the loving relationship between Christ and the Church. The husband exercises headship in a way that displays the caring sacrificial love of Christ. The wife submitting herself that models the love of the Church to the Lord. Gods order for headship is Christ the man, then the woman (1 Corin 11:3). In the ministry of the church both men and women are encouraged to serve Christ and to be developed to their full potential.

The distinctive leadership roles in the scriptures has been given to qualified men and is grounded in Creation, the fall and redemption. This must not be sidelined by appeals to submit to cultural and social developments. Kingdoms, laws and mindsets may change in the course of time but the word of God remains the same.
